Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (A Special Request)

This post has nothing to do with planes, trains, or automobiles, but it has everything to do with transport en commun (public transit). Victor thought my readers would like to see pictures of the bus, the metro, the tramway, and the electric trolleybus. All of these are a part of the Lyon transportation system and I can use all of these an unlimited number of times using the same metro area monthly transport pass (TCL card). These modes of transportation are not related to the youth pass I bought (12-25). That pass is only worth anything for all around France train tickets (with a company called SNCF, which is an actual train company, not a metro or tram).

So here we go- the one that looks like a caterpillar on tracks is the tramway. I take the T2, or Tramway number 2. The extra long bus connected to wires is what I think is an electric trolleybus. I have never tried this little guy out. The metro is orange and underground. There are only 4 metro lines (A, B, C, and D). And finally, you have the regular old city bus, which is becoming my preferred method of travel because there are just so dang many of them. Et voila! There you have it in a nutshell:)

  1. If you're taking special requests, what about fire hydrants? Do they look different there? It seems like they have various designs in different countries. Just curious :)

  3. Oooh, what about mail boxes? Like ones that are around town - if they even have those. In England they were everywhere and bright red and cool looking. Not like people's individual boxes but public ones. Eh? And I think that's it...

  4. Enjoyed the information. What about restrooms? I'd heard they were not readily located, etc.
